Job Description: MEP Superintendent
We have an opening for an experienced individual who simply loves building buildings to join our team as an MEP Superintendent. This position will lead the on-site activities for the MEP scopes of work to successfully deliver large, complex projects on time and within budget.
• Basic Qualifications
A college degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 8+ years of commercial/industrial experience concentrated in MEP work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong knowledge of MEP and controls installation, along with utility integrations for new construction projects or project renovations.
Familiarity with construction management and office productivity software, with the ability to learn site-specific web-based mobile document and project management solutions.
OSHA 10 Certification required upon hire.
Willingness to relocate where the work project is located.
• Responsibilities
Support the Project Manager and/or Superintendent to ensure that company policies and procedures are followed in the field regarding safety, quality, schedule, and end-user satisfaction.
Responsible for directly managing a project’s MEP construction activities to meet specifications within the scheduled completion date.
May work as an individual on small to medium projects or be part of a larger MEP team and be responsible for a specific area or utility on a larger project.
Understand, organize, and maintain all project contract documents regularly.
Lead design professionals and subcontractors in the development of coordinated MEP documents necessary to graphically represent (Mechanical, Electrical, Elevators, Plumbing, and Sprinkler) MEP installation.
Assist, as requested, in the technical review and approval of MEP submittals.
Conduct regular subcontractor coordination meetings with the Project Manager.
Resolve clash detections identified during the development of the coordination documents and those identified during construction activities.
Ensure the proper performance of all subcontractors in both quality and timeliness of their work by performing inspections for completion and compliance with design standards.
Document corrective action when necessary and follow up with trades to determine that installation standards are being maintained between all teams.
Collaborate with public utility suppliers or the owner’s operations team to obtain final service connections to support project schedule delivery dates or system startups with the determined project schedule delivery date and system startups. Ensure that site safety requirements are being met at all times.
Assist project safety personnel, if needed, in safely stopping work when infractions are found and counseling subcontractors and team members when violations occur.

Proficient in reading, understanding, and interpreting plans, specifications, drawings, contracts, and other documents pertaining to MEP aspects of projects.
Demonstrate professionalism in relationships with all parties involved in the project through words, actions, and leadership.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
